We are excited to introduce our new Assistant Golf Professional, Abby Parsons. You all will get to know her and we thought you would like to know a little about her.
Abby, was born and raised with her two brothers in Pinehurst, North Carolina where her love of golf and the golf industry began. Her father, Tom, was the Director of Golf at National Golf Club, now Pinehurst #9 for 20 years while her mother, Amy is a high school English teacher. The two now reside in Minnesota where Tom is the General Manager at Crow River Golf Club and Amy continues to teach.
Abby played Division I college golf at Boston University where she majored in Broadcast Journalism. Abby worked at Whistling Straits the past three summers, going from Golf Operations Intern, to Assistant Golf Professional, to 2nd Assistant Golf Professional in that time. Abby played a major role during the 2020 Ryder Cup (that happened in 2021) as the Chair of Transportation for Team USA, Team Europe, and their VIPS. In the winters, she would reside in Placida, Florida where she was an Assistant Golf Professional at Coral Creek Club.
Abby became a Class A PGA Member in February of this year after completing the program in a span of 13 months. She writes articles for the PGA's website weekly, along with being on-camera for instructional videos for PGA's social media outlets.
Fun fact about Abby: She interned for the Golf Channel summer before senior year at Boston University in the instruction department.
