Max Davis

Since he can remember, golf has always been a constant in Max’s life. He grew up learning to play golf at the private seaside Webhannet Golf Club in Kennebunk Beach, ME, where his family has lived and remained members for over 50 years. At age 13, Max started working at a local par-3 course where he remained for 5 summers before working 4 years as a Greenskeeper at Cape Arundel Golf Club across town in Kennebunkport.
In 2018, Max earned a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and English from Hobart College in Geneva, NY and proceeded to teach Special Education, work in admissions, and coach hockey at private boarding schools for 3 years following graduation. Yearning to get back outside, Max pivoted back into golf as an Assistant Superintendent-In-Training at Falmouth Country Club in Maine while he obtained his Certificate in Turfgrass Science from the University of Massachusetts that same year. Most recently, Max was an Assistant Superintendent at Essex County Club, a Top-100 facility on the North Shore of Boston. Not only does Max offer a diverse turf management experience from previous years of working in golf, but many of the operations management skills needed to coordinate our crew of 30 groundskeepers he obtained through his time teaching and coaching.
Max hitched the U-Haul to his truck and moved out to Scottsdale and The Country Club at DC Ranch in January 2024. Born and raised in Kennebunk, Maine, Max is actually a 13th generation Mainer, given that his family has lived in the state since 1650. He is a devoted New England sports fan, and enjoys watching the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Along with golf, hockey has been a very important part of Max’s life due to having played on travel hockey teams since he was 5 years old. Max still plays to this day, and when not at the golf course or rink, he enjoys weight training, and seeing as many concerts as possible.
